The Gulf Copper shipyard in Galveston, TX, lies in a coastal area of Pelican
Island. Due to the tidal nature of the shipyard, the berths silt up and
prevent deep draft vessels and oil rigs from safely mooring at the
facility. Millmac is under contract to provide maintenance dredging at
the shipyard on a continuous basis to maintain sufficient drafts at all
working piers.
